  • On 25 November the world International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is observed .
  • The theme of world International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women  this year is “Orange the World - raise funds to end violence against women”.
Manoj Bajpayee wins best actor at Asia Pacific Screen Awards
  • Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee has won the best performance award by an actor at the 10th Asia Pacific Screen Awards beating Nawazuddin Siddiqui,who was awarded a special mention in the same category.
  •  Winners in the 10th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, said to be the region's highest accolade in film, were announced at a glittering ceremony in Brisbane last night.
N V Srinivasan appointed as Indo-American Chamber of Commerce President
  • For the period 2016-17 NVS and Associates Managing Partner, or N V Srinivasan is elected as its National President of Trade body Indo-American Chamber of Commerce  by the committee of the Chamber during the meeting held in Mumbai. 
  • Other Appointments: Bhasin and Company Managing Partner Lalit Bhasin and entrepreneur Vasant Subramanyan were elected as Executive Vice-Presidents respectively.
Government approves new 62 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi  gave approval for opening of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in each of the 62 uncovered districts for which an amount of Rs.2,871 crore has been allocated on November 23, 2016.
Upgraded Jaguar DARIN III aircraft receives IOC
  • The harvest festival of Wangala  celebrated by Garo tribals people of Meghalaya to marks the end of a period of toil for farmers wanting a good output from their fields. 
  •  Meghalaya harvest festival is Wangala.
  • On this harvest festival first day people offer their agriculture produce to the Sun God, while on the second day or Kakkat, they will dance Wangala Dance.
Andhra Pradesh CM launches Water Distribution Monitoring Portal
  • ‘Smart Water Distribution Monitoring’ web portal, launched by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naiduwhich which will enable the people to track the status of drinking water in the nearby water tanks.
  • The Water Distribution Monitoring portal can be accessed from the website
  • The portal has Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that helps in reduction of water wastage as well as ensures uninterrupted water supply to the households.
Australia’s former women team’s captain Karen Rolton inducted into the ICC’s Hall of Fame
  •  Karen Rolton  captain of Australia’s former women’s has been inducted into the ICC’s Hall of Fame on November 24, 2016 at a ceremony during the dinner break on the opening Karen Roltonday of the third day/night Test between Australia and South Africa. 
  • She has become the 81st player to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and the sixth woman to receive the award and she also presented with a personalized cap by ICC Chief Executive David Richardson.
IIT Kharagpur named top university in India for jobs
  •  IIT Kharagpur has been named for the second time in a row, for the top university in India in terms of jobs and placements, by QS Employability Ranking of top 200 universities across the world.
  •  In the list of Stanford University US has topped the list globally and IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and Delhi University also feature on the list.
Arunachal govt renames sports trophy after martyred jawan
  • Arunachal Pradesh's sports department has renamed the state-level Chief Minister's Trophy for men's and women's football and volleyball after martyred jawan Hangman Dada. 
  • On May 27 this year after killing three terrorists Dada died in Kupwara . Chief Minister Pema Khandu had proposed renaming the trophy after the martyr, with the decision being ratified on Wednesday.
1st Moon mission coder receives US' highest civilian award
  • Margaret Hamilton, the lead software engineer on the world's first successful manned lunar mission, Apollo 11, has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
  •  Hamilton got US' highest civilian award. He headed the MIT department tasked with developing the guidance and navigation system software for the NASA project. Notably, Hamilton is often credited with coining the term 'software engineering'.
Airbnb partners with SEWA for rural tourism
  • On Thursday home rental platform 'Airbnb'  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Self-Employed Women's Association of India (SEWA) to boost rural tourism in India. 
  • Through the partnership, Airbnb will work with SEWA members to help them share their homes with Airbnb’s guests, creating economic opportunities for women in rural areas and promoting tourism.
Maha Haddioui is the first Arab female professional golfer
  •  The first female professional golfer Maha Haddioui from Morocco. Haddioui, who started playing golf when she was 13 years old, is now in the European Tour's Top 50 and also represented Morocco at the Summer Olympic Games. The video features her discussing the struggles she faced to become a professional golfer.
Miami named world's most inspiring city
  • The world's most inspiring city, in a survey by travel company is Miami. It has been followed by Brutes and San Francisco. 
  • The cities were ranked based on the number of performing arts companies, art schools, galleries and museums present there.Travel Bird ranked have total 85 cities, placing Jodhpur at 76th and Mumbai at 83rd place.
